Kaleita (pronounced kuh-LEE-tuh) is the instrumental project of London-based, Italian-born guitarist and composer Filippo Faustini. Blending post-rock atmosphere with cinematic scope, Kaleita explores the expressive edge of the electric guitar through immersive, slow-building compositions.

Following his work as a rock guitarist and producer with the London outfit Dead Writers—headlining his first festival in 2024—Faustini has developed a parallel path as a composer. His second Kaleita release, Digitale Purpurea, reached the finals of the 2025 Film Sync Awards, further establishing his cinematic voice.

Faustini discovered the mysterious power of music early on in his life, when he realised that making up and singing little melodies would give him a sense of grounding and comfort that came from inside himself. Building on this personal discovery, he dedicated his life to attaining a personal musical voice as a guitarist and composer, with the intent of sharing the self-regulating and self-discovering properties of music.

"Faustini sets a new standard for what experimentalism can evoke when anchored by intent and executed without ego" - A. Vandergast - A&R Factory

Kaleita's upcoming album Utopia is set to be released in September 2026 and will contain 9 tracks that span from post-rock to electronica, from classical influences to pop, jazz and world music. An ambitious project that sums up Faustini's lifelong fascination and study of music of all kinds. In this work, the electric guitar is the main character, and acts as a unifying lens through which all these influences are held together.

Live, Kaleita unfolds as a real-time guitar sound sculpture. Using standard and baritone electric guitars, Faustini builds pieces layer by layer through live looping and his own resonance techniques, revealing the architecture of the music as it forms. Each performance evolves differently, inviting the audience into an intimate, headphone-like listening space within a live setting.

All sounds originate from six strings, yet the result moves far beyond traditional guitar performance — refracting the instrument into something textural, immersive, and emotionally direct.
